Sean Miller | Not very helpful unless you spend money with them on a regular basis. Not helpful to the little contractor |
Paige Gerson | Threatening employee! I'm a homeowner who had a very small roofing repair job. The contractor I found said I could save money if I purchased the supplies he thought he needed at this store. He gave me a list and I called Roof Depot asking if they had them. They did. I called the store and asked if I purchased the supplies and needed to return them unopened if I could and get all my money back if I paid with a credit card. They told me yes as long as I had the original receipt. I even asked that same question a second time just to be sure, and was told the same answer. So I purchased the materials. Two & 1/2 weeks later when the roofer had time to come out and to do the job; he found he needed different supplies. He went on his own to purchase those. Then I went to return the unopened supplies less than three weeks after I purchased them. I called the store AGAIN asking if I could get my money back if I returned them. The employee said as long as you have the original receipt. When I arrived at the store I stood for approximately three minutes before anybody acknowledged I was there while they worked on their phones. Finally the man who sold me the supplies said how can I help you. I said I need to return the unopened supplies and here's my receipt. He said the following in a very threatening & demeaning manner--you know there's a 20 re-stocking fee. I said you NEVER told me that or I wouldn't have purchased the supplies as my roofer was not 100 sure what all I needed. He said well I may not have told you but there is a re-stocking fee. I asked to speak with his manager. He went about four feet away to speak to his manager who is was in an open office. I followed him as I was very distraught at this point. I reiterated what had occurred between the employee and myself. The manager said oh just "give it to her." The employee with the look of disgust in his eyes proceeded to process my return. I have never been treated this poorly in my life at a retail establishment. If I were you, especially a WOMAN, I would make sure to get it in writing that everything is completely returnable and there is no restocking fee and I'd bring a man in case their employees start threatening. They tried to intimidate me into paying their non-existent restocking fee. I felt so threatened that while I was waiting to get my money back I called 911 in case one of the employees did anything more than treat me like dirt. |
