bryon pippin | American Leak Detection was not my first choice to call for a complicated underground water leak I was experiencing. I first called another company that I will only provide initials to avoid bashing them. After two days of waiting, TLC did not return my phone call message left or respond to their on-line request I received a confirmation email that they received my request, but no follow up. Upon writing this review, it has been a full week and I have not heard back from this company. Anyway, I called American Leak Detection on Wednesday afternoon and spoke with KC. She was very knowledgeable about the process, informed me of potential costs involved and also advised me of possible extra costs due to my complicated 400' water line that crossed two other properties. We scheduled for Friday morning. On Friday at 9:20, Ed called me to report he was on his way and he showed up promptly at his appointed time. He was very understanding of my stress as I explained my issue. As he began his work, he explained the process to me to make sure I was comfortable with him tying into my water line. The entire job took three hours and due to Ed's persistence and desire to pinpoint my problem, he located my leak within a 1/2 foot of his diagnosed location. Let me add that the leak was found at a depth of four feet below my driveway and a stem wall and Ed found the perfect location for me to dig for the problem. Im not going to tell you this was a cheap diagnostic, but I will say I was happy to pay the fee due to the complexity of my location, depth and location below my concrete driveway. The service fee was well worth it as it saved me a lot of time and back breaking work. My overall rating for American Leak Detection is 5 stars and I highly recommend this company to anyone who is frustrated, stressed and at a loss in what to do for the next step. Finally, Ed offered the companies services to repair the leak, but Im knowledgeable enough to swing a shovel and repair the line myself. However for someone who may be incapable of doing the work themselves, I'm confident American Leak Detection would repair any water problem with promptness, professionalism, honesty and curtsy. Finally, as Ed was leaving, I offered him a forty-dollar tip as I felt he deserved it for his persistency and dedication to pin-point my leak. To my surprise, he declined the tip! Wow! Now that is a company that really has great employees and who must hire honest people! Give American Leak Detection a try! You will not be disappointed! |
Roger Schwarz | This Company is A-1 in every respect, from the office staff to the leak detecting techs. They are punctual, highly skilled, well-informed, took the time to carefully explain my options and were very fairly-priced. Jonathan did a fantastic job in detecting a tricky, underground leak in our main water line. ALD also replaced my 80 foot water line. The crew--Dave, Brian and another young man--worked tirelessly to restore my water service. They did a great job, and although the job took longer than expected, and required the rental of additional heavy equipment, they stuck to their original estimate, showing honesty and integrity. I recommend them without reservation. |
Amber Easton | As a homeowner, hearing that you have a leak in your mainline is stressful. On August 8, the leak detection crew arrived to pinpoint the leak. That team indicated that the leak was underneath my bathroom floor on the main line. On August 13, a crew arrived to fix it. They ripped through the tile in my bathroom only to discover there were no pipes there! They needed to call in another team. They found the leak behind the wall of my master bedroom. Unfortunately, a leak was still present after that date. They honored their warranty on labor and returned to fix the second leak. What prevents me from giving this a higher rating is that the owner treated me as if I were trying to cheat him out of money and did not once apologize or offer to compensate me for their original mistake that caused my bathroom to be ripped up. Honesty is such a valuable asset in any business, especially these days when news of scams run rampant. Trust is important when hiring contractors to work on your home. in this case, I trusted them to find the leak 380 and then repair it 1999 and that first crew caused a lot of unnecessary damage that they seemed to just blow off. The leak never ceased, not even for a day. It lessened substantially but it is an ongoing problem. |
