Accurate Renovation – Roofing Contractor in Durham, North Carolina

Accurate renovation was awesome!! I had some wind damage due to the storm. They came assessed and repaired. I was so impressed their professional and punctuality! I would definitely recommend them to others.

I hired this company last year to replace my entire roof. When the job was completed, I was given a 15 year workmanship warranty. I am extremely disappointed with this company and the "warranty" they provided. When the hard rains arrived this past summer, I noted water pouring into my house from the bay window area. The leak destroyed the paint and drywall on four sides of the bay window area. We still do not know what damage lies under the carpet on the floor. When I contacted Accurate Renovation about it, they sent out someone to look at the bay window roof and informed me that there was nothing wrong with the construction, and that it must be leaking from the bricks above the window. It continued to rain throughout the week, and more water entered our home. I again contacted Accurate Renovation, this time to be completely ignored. No phone call, no text, no home visit. After placing a tarp over my entire bay window roof, I was forced to contact other roofers so that the leak would be fixed before more rain further damaged the inside of my home. Subsequently, three separate roofing companies indicated that there was, indeed, a problem with the construction of the bay window, and proceeded to show me why they had issues with it. I even hired one of them to complete a "water test" to see if his theory was correct on the faulty construction and location of the leak. In a matter of minutes, water started pouring into my house again. The individual had found the leak - not in the bricks; not in the windows above, not in the flashing, but where the shingles met the flashing. The other roofers were correct, as well. Since more rain was coming, I hired that company to replace my entire bay window roof. Now, in full disclosure, we did have an issue with the bay window two years ago, but it was an issue of re-sealing the flashing against the house - and after that point, we had absolutely no issues until Accurate Renovation put a new roof on the bay window. I had to spend approximately 1500-2000 to fix the issue promptly and the drywall before more rain came to the area. I understand that by hiring another company to fix the problem, my warranty with Accurate Renovation extinguished. However, after no response, I was given no other choice. At this point, I am preparing a case to take to small claims court to try and recoup some of what I lost as part of the poor workmanship on the bay window. In the past, I referred a few neighbors to this company. I don't recommend them any longer.

Roofing is a thankless job, really. Roofers are expected to do a 100 perfect job at a baseline. Well, I'm happy to say that Accurate Renovation and the whole team there especially Earl did more than just a perfect job, giving my roof a 110 effort and then some. Some background: I purchased a fixer-upper with a complex, multi-pitched roof. Aside from replacing the roof, we had work done on the kitchen, bathrooms, garage, water line, HVAC, garden, you name it. Of the dozen contractors we had to work with this year, Earl and Accurate Renovation were unambiguously the best. If I could give these guys 6 stars out of 5, I would. Seriously, I told Earl if they expand into any other line of business for which I had a need, I'm hiring them.
