L A Barnaby & Sons Inc – Roofing Contractor in Stratford, Connecticut

L A Barnaby & Sons responded promptly when I had a roof leak a few years ago. They were very professional and got the job done quickly. More recently, Leon has been very helpful in the sale of my home when potential buyers were concerned with the stains in the attic from the earlier leak. He inspected it again and spoke with the buyers. He backs up his work.

We are first time home buyers, bought our home in May 2019. The inspector warned us the house would need a new roof soon. As a result of the inspector's concerns, the sellers hired Barnaby and Sons to come out and give a roof evaluation. They wrote up a formal letter stating "The roof has a minimum of 3-5 years, if not more, before needing to be replaced". 10 months after buying the house, the roof is leaking. I called Barnaby to come out and give an estimate. I also called 4 other roofing companies to come give estimates. Barnaby came in the second highest out of all 5 companies, and when I mentioned their inspection report from less than a year ago, they weren't willing to take compensatory action. I informed them that other companies have given estimates, and the lowest quote we received is half of the price that Barnaby quoted us. He was not willing to discount his quote to that extent, and kept repeating the same line, "I understand where you are coming from, I wish there was something I could do for you." Another comment of his was "It could have been the weather, rain and snow that caused the leak." In my opinion all roofs in CT experience similar amounts of snow and rain, shouldn't this have been taken into account when he gave his initial evaluation. In addition, this has been an uncharacteristically mild winter with minimal snow we had one snow day in December, we are both teachers and keep track of the snow storms! All in all, his unwillingness to back up his own evaluation is quite frustrating.

LA Barnaby just replaced all the windows in my home & did an amazing job. Brian was very thorough throughout the process & hand selected me windows that not only upgrade the look of my house but the energy efficiency. I would highly recommend to anyone !
