jon dowd	GAF was the defendant in a class action lawsuit in the early 1990's, for selling defective shingles. The company eventually settled, offering home owners a pittance for the defective shingles. The fiberglass mat used for the shingle under layment was defective, and was subject to tearing. Unfortunately, the judge who oversaw the case was a coward, and a typical political hack. He let GAF get away with screwing every home owner that had GAF shingles. Like all judges, he was an incompetent lawyer who couldn't earn a living in private practice, so he joined the local political club, and got the President to appoint him a District Judge. Like all judges, he was a real political hack. Moral of the story-DO NOT BUY ANY GAF PRODUCT!!!!. YOU WILL REGRET IT.
