George Davis | How I spent a very small part of my summer vacation fixing a leak in the potting shed roof using the Topps Polyprene repair system. This will be a short story due to the efficiency of the Topps systems; and thankfully so-due to my queasy feeling at heights over 6'ever since I have become older not old. The potting shed has 6-2 x 3 skylights and had little attention since we moved in 9 years ago. I used a wire brush to make surface conditioning fast in the corners of each skylight. The Polyprene spread quickly and efficiently due to the “correct chemical timer” being engineered into the product. There was no problem with premature hardening or “run off”. I measured and pre-cut the Polycore pieces prior to laying them into the Polyprene layer on the shingles. My second and final layer of Polyprene was applied over the Polycore working from the center towards each end and went surprisingly fast for this novice roofer. The Topps Polyprene/Polycore system is obviously a very user friendly product; easy to apply with superior engineering technology. I would certainly endorse it for any/all roofing repair applications. |
