My mother had new windows installed in her condo and the installation caused irreparable damage to her custom shutters. More importantly, she verbalized concerns related to the installation and impact the installation would have on her shutters prior to them actually installing the windows, but they blew off her concerns. While a company attempted to repair the shutters by building out the existing frame, this was not an adequate solution, as the shutters continue to be nonfunctional in terms of opening/closing without excessive force and the window levers still hit the inside of the shutters. In order for her to have fully functional, aesthetically pleasing shutters that she had prior to Mengel Exteriors installing new windows, the shutters would need to be completely replaced. My mother has repeatedly verbalized her concerns related to the window and shutter issue and attempts to reconcile the problem have unfortunately not improved the situation. Now they are harassing us for the remainder of the balance despite our requests to have the shutters replaced before we settle with them. So unless you want to pay for something, have damage done to your home , and then deal with a company who refuses to step up and take responsibility, STAY AWAY! |
