| Julie Zilka | We contacted Heartland Contractors to bid a project to convert our screen porch into a three season porch. They came out promptly, spent almost an hour reviewing the existing structure, and seemed genuinely interested in the project offering many good ideas. We were told to expect an estimate in approximately 2-3 weeks and that they could probably get to it this spring as they had an open schedule at this time mid-April. Six weeks later I called to see if they were able to provide the estimate and was told that they would be unable to do the project. The explanation I was offered was that they would/could not put their name on the project unless they demolished and re-built the existing structure. I asked why they would need to tear down the porch and was told they would follow up with the details in an email. I did indeed receive an email wishing me a happy summer but it did not include any information regarding their reasons for rejecting the project. I can only assume that they do not have the ability to complete this type of project and didn't think it was worth their time to call and tell me so. |
