Keller Supply Co – Roofing Contractor in Missoula, Montana

I cannot speak to what quality service or product this store provides. However, I can say that onxe a few years ago when interviewing for a job there I witnessed a most bizarre treatment by the head manager I think was named 'Bill'. I had submitted my resume online and was quickly called by this manager inquiring if I would be interested in a different position. I responded I would be open to interviewing for this other position and agreed to an interview. A couple days later I showed up for the interview for the 'Showroom Attendant' and immediately upon meeting 'Bill' felt a weird sense he was suddenly no longer interested in interviewing me. Instead of this employer having the professionalism and decency to conduct the interview he scheduled he almost immediately told me I would be subjected to a 'personality test'. He said this exam had the most accurate abilty to discern peoples true hidden character. Although perplexed by his behavior I agreed to this online test as I had nothing to hide. He warned me again it was a very revealing 'accurate' test and seemed to ve hoping I would deckine taking the test. When that didnt happen he then said he was not able to hire for this position and said i would need to be interviewed a second tine by the Showroim manager' over at another location blocks away. As it wss almost 5pm he told me I would need to arrive there within minutes to meet with this other manager. When I arrived at the 2nd interview the other manager was cordial and kindly led me throughout the showroom. When I inquired as to when he would decide on the person to hire for the position he seemed sincerely confused and said he wss not in charge of hiring for any position. I thanked him for his time and left feeling truely confused about what had just hapoened. A few days later after never receiving any personality test thru email ss Bill had firected I called Bill back who responded that he would have someone send that to me. Several days later without any email received and after leaving Bill a couple messages he never returned I was finally sent an 'intent questionaire' from Keller plumbing via email which consisted of 4 short multiple choice questions ranging from what position I applied for to how many hours I was available in which I chose I was open to the regular and overtime hours needed for the position. I then submitted the email back to Keller Plumbing via email as instructed on the form. After 2 weeks without a response I left msgs for this Bill who I eventually was connected to. He sounded like he was rather uneasy and fumbled for his words. Finally he states "Yeah you didnt pass the personality test". I then inquired as to what part of the test was failed as the email was titled 'Intent questionaire' and simply listed 4 rather superficial non personal questions. Bill seemed even more uneasy and said he wasnt sure and wss busy. I thanked him for his time and left it at that. However it was truly a strange unusual experience that I have never been able to understand. I understand discrimmination comes in many forms but as a white, college graduate, montana native I had never seen anything as bizarre as this Managers 'Bills' behavior. Possibly I looked similar to someone in his personal life who he now detests. However Bills behavior and weird contention of the applicant being subjected and then supposedly failing a non existent personality exam wax truly the most bizarre thing I ever seen or heard of. All can think of is possibly this manager is the one i need of a true personality exam as his behavior and character are a liability for this companies image in our community and status as an 'Equal Opportunity Employer'. This companies Manager displayed discrminnatory and repulsively shameful behavior. One can only imagine how many others he has treated the same.
