Baker Roofing Company – Roofing Contractor in Wilmington, North Carolina

We started researching roofing options about 2 years ago for ourselves and for the HOA I oversee on a Board of Directors. After talking to roofers we know personally back home about different brands and durability, all of them recommended Owens Corning Duration Shingles. From there I contacted Owens Corning first to get a better understanding of their warranty and different levels of offerings. We know we wanted a Platinum warranty with the system that gives a 50 year warranty that Owens Corning stands behind on labor. One thing to note-each roofing company sets the price on the warranty-so when pricing check multiple roofers when getting quotes. One quote was much more than Baker's for the same roof and products. That warranty is transferrable one time to a new owner. Also-on our end unit townhome-their price difference between the standard warranty and the Platinum warranty was under 300. When locating vendors on the Owens Corning website-there were three vendors on the site that were within our service area at the NC Coast. Only two ever followed through with a bid, Baker Roofing and one other company. What I liked about Baker-their promptness on showing up to give the estimate, return calls and emails during the initial bid process, and giving me addresses of 3-4 properties nearby that we could see their actual work. Once we saw their work my partner and I were satisfied with the finish work they had done on the other projects. We are at a coastal location in NC that is prone to hurricanes. What we saw after Hurricane Florence that a proper roof makes a huge difference in home preservation. The weather shield layer adds an additional barrier from teh elements, The shingle we chose was Owens Corning Duration in Estate Gray. The shingle has a wind rating of 130 MPH. Another factor that Baker Roofing offers a 10 year warranty on their own work as well-that is transferrable within the first ten years to subsequent owners. Scheduling was easy-initially we had planned on coming down after the work was done, but we opted to be present for the work. The supplies were dropped off quietly around 6-6:30AM-the crew arrived around 7:30 AM and the foreman Dave explained the process. The team worked efficiently and with little disturbance to us until around 2:30/3:00 PM when the job was complete. Dave showed us photos of the various steps and explained the extra steps that Baker Roofing does to beef up their roof installs. Dave took the time through the steps to tell us about the various steps of the process-as we were installing the system components that were required to get the Platinum Warranty. We would highly recommend Baker Roofing without hesitation.
