| Ashley Bell | We had a leak in our ceiling in part of an addition previously put on our home. We had the owner out in spring of 2019. He said our problem was the entire roof on the addition and that it all needed replaced. We trusted him. A few weeks later we had them out to rip off the old roof and completely replace it with all new. In terms of the job it was fine. The roof looks great and they were done in a timely manner. We weren't happy to find roof nails all through the yard where our kids and pets play but figured it was part of the job so whatever. May comes and we get rain and wouldn't you know the leak is still there. Call about it and son in law comes out and says this is it and fixes something else. June and its still leaking and so on. At another point the owner came back out and said it was in relation to the flashing so they replaced that. Still leaking into fall. The last contact we had was in November. Two weeks in a row and four possible days they would be stopping out. They've never showed and never contacted us back about it. Being a young family with children, one of which I was pregnant with and delivered during this time, I don't appreciate feeling taken advantage of. My husband got some free time in November and go up on the roof with a house to try and narrow down an area where what is coming in. It seems to be coming from behind a shutter on a second floor window directly above the main floor addition. We called and told them this and were told they'd fix it for the cost they charged. Had we known this was the issue certainly wouldn't have opted to put a new roof on a large portion of the house just two months before I was due. We would have paid to get the window area fixed at what is likely going to end up being a fraction of the cost of the roof. The problem was the owner said "its your roof it needs replaced." So since he was wrong we are just out of luck apparently and since they were paid for the actual job its none of their concern anymore. |
