Diana Briegel | I recently met with Kevin Cohen for a quote on a solarium addition. His knowledge and expertise, combined with his easy personality, gave me a great first impression of this company. Since I knew this might be a long-term plan for me, I needed a quote and advice about what might work. Kevin was very respectful of that, and provided great information about financing options available. Looking forward to fitting my addition into my budget! |
Karen S | I contracted in January to purchase a Liferoom from TRS. I think as another person commented, the sales process is very high pressure. I didn't really see a problem with this at the time, perhaps partly because I felt like I was buying a product more than a service but - for 40K - the salesman and frankly the delivery team should know the product well. And really no one should be selling a 40K product like a 500 washing machine. We have also been misinformed about a number of aspects of the product every step of the way. And there is clearly no long term support. I have currently been trying to get the company to my house for 6 weeks to remedy a roof leak caused by them that I have been trying to get them remedy since May. I believe that this company is likely perfectly capable of installing prefab patio covers and screen roofs that attach to the side of your house -.but don't let them cut into your existing structures as we did. And I believe that the majority of our woes were caused by a project manager who could not perform his job - which the company owner personally apologized for. But the fact of the matter remains that 3-4 months later I have an unresolved leak into my garage caused by their shoddy work. Work that I discussed personally with the project manager while the garage roof was still open. So, again, while I appreciate the company owner personally extending me a 2 year guarantee on the labor - that guarantee is worthless if I've been trying now for 6 weeks to get someone at my house and I get no response. Every step of the project was delayed - a project I was told would take 2 weeks took 3-4 months from when they broke ground to finish. I was typically never informed of when someone was showing up at my house, what was going on, etc....the project manager even had the audacity to claim that I had actually been quoted an 8-12 week project timeframe...perhaps he had plotted such a thing out; if so, it was never presented to me. And perhaps someone should tell the salesperson not to pronounce 2 weeks as the project timeframe. The only thing the company was ever prompt about was asking for their next check. They failed inspections 2-3 times over - which was one of the big delays in the project. And in the mean time - heavy construction materials were left leaning against my fence. massive piles of dirt killed the grass in my yard, a gap hole they made in my garage roof was left uncovered for weeks, siding and flashing was ripped off my house and left like that for weeks. I will say that the electrician that they subbed to was great - introduced himself, explained what he was doing, and passed inspection right away. And the team that actually came in to install the prefab product was also fine. But the overall execution has been beyond horrible, and now I will probably have to pay a roofer to redo their leaky roofing / siding job. I was hopeful when 6 weeks ago I had a few people reach out and seemed to suggest they'd get someone out to look at this leak which is still not resolved. But that was wishful thinking. I might also mention that when I look up at the ceiling of my Liferoom there are lots of spots where they just randomly stopped caulking .they basically just wear you down....after 5 months of me managing this project when I thought I paid 40K for this service, I just want to be done with it. I again appreciate the company owner personally apologizing to me, but I was told that there was a new project manager that was going to fix everything / finish up the project. Instead - their handyman came over by himself for a day and I pointed out all the things that remained as apparently no one had informed him. Never heard from the new project manager. I attempted earlier in this project to complain to BBB and Angies List - the company never responded. I am attaching a photo I provided to the company in mid-July when I advised them that their handyman's caulk job didn't solve the problem. Photos and videos documenting the leak have been sent to the company all summer. |
