Dale and his crew were extraordinary to work with. They were all pleasant and competent and EXTREMELY hardworking. Dale explained the different kinds of shingles and the different costs, he explained the roof vents needed, he leveled the gutters for best drainage, he cleaned up meticulously, he knew what the codes were and made sure they were followed, and he had excellent follow up, communication, and punctuality. I don't know what more anyone could have done at such a fair and reasonable price. He did extra little things too like cleaning stains on the chimney and asking us what time was acceptable to start working in the morning. Great experience.

Last fall I needed to start the process of getting a new roof so I drove around my neighborhood scouting out what color I should consider. I came upon a house that was nearly identical to mine and I loved the roof they had on it. I stopped and asked the homeowner who did her roof and what brand/color it was. She referred me to Dale at Smart Roofing, noting she was very happy with his work. I called him and he was very responsive, promptly coming over to give me an estimate. I liked Dale immediately. He was very informative, very open and it was clear he valued his work and his workmen. We had several conversations about the roof and what it needed. I intended to get the recommended three estimates, but I was so confident in Dale's estimate, had already seen his work product and just really felt he was trustworthy I did not do so. I was confident in both Dale's honestly and integrity and felt his estimate was both competitive and fair. Given it was fall, we decided to schedule the re-roofing for spring. True to his word, Dale called me in March and set up a time to start the job. I did not need to call him or chase him down as I have with other contractors I have worked with. His crew started a few days later and they completed the project in two days. They cleaned up and it was if they had never been there, except I had a lovely new roof. I know if I have a problem down the road, Dale will stop by to take care of it. I really enjoyed working with Dale. It would be nice if all contractors operated as he does. If you choose to work with Smart Roofing, as long as Dale and his dad are at the helm, you won't be disappointed.
